Manager keeps an eye on everyone and is easy to approach with any problems.

Cons

Far too long taken in refurbishing villas.Post owner has to go on paying until the villa is resold. Privacy could be better.

Has a heated pool ever been considered. at this village? Costly I know but swimming is an exercise that the elderly can do and enjoy.

Lack of a 'say' in village affairs other than social events. Erosion of benefits - staff at nights/weekends, call systems/nurse - without consultation or compensation.

A proper management/residents group set up and our feedback and opinions taken seriously. We are the ones who pay the bills and we are not all grumpy old whingers.

A peaceful, friendly, well-designed village with plenty of trees, gardens and grass. There are opportunities for the usual activities, which residents may choose to attend or avoid! A public bus service runs through the village on week days. I moved here from Wellington nearly six years ago and have found some wonderful friends. There is great support from Digital Seniors and our own technology users' group to help seniors use cell phones and the internet.

Cons

Our hall needs to be upgraded. It has difficult entrances and is not well-planned. There have been promises of improvements but nothing has happened! There is a Residents' Social Committee to plan activities etc, but efforts to establish a residents' committee to safeguard residents' rights have not been successful.

Quiet, good neighbours, lawns mowed, outside maintenance, handyman help, residents social committee.

Cons

Outside windows we have to do. Meals on wheels from on site hospital are horrible. Only one toilet.

Overall it was a good move with husband with COPD. Facilities need upgrade. Plenty to do.
