Small and mostly good with plenty of activities

Cons

That us smokers are not allowed to sit in our garden area and enjoy a cigarette. Also the pushing of Religion.

Cons

no outdoor activit.ies provided I do not think the new management structure is as yet very positive for the village residents. Our 'manager' is now called a "co-ordinator" which doesn't seem right to the residents. Communication between management and village residents needs improving.

Suggestions to Management or General Comment

.Problems need to be dealt with straight away. One small complaint by one difficult woman escalated into months of bitterness and hurt. No resident is more or less important than another.

The BUPA change to incorporate independent living apartments with the resthome under a general manager we now do not have a general manager

Cons

No provision for outdoor activities. Currently Bupa are trialling a new management format and Hugh Green is one of the "guinea pigs". While many of us can understand the concept many small things have become big irritants and the Bupa heirarchy don 't appear to be listening to us who have lived here for 3 or4 years and judge it from a residents' point of view for what works best for us instead of from a aesthetic perspective which detracts from this as our home and not a 4 star hotel.

listen to the residents. understand how things work for us instead of 'managers' who have never lived in a village and only judge by looks.

Cons

A difficult time and while I appreciate the danger and strict adherence to rules during level4, The last 3 weeks have been extremely difficult for those of us who live alone as we were not allowed to sit at a safe distance and talk to each other. This seemed strange when we were able to go to a supermarket etc but not mix with friends in our environment. This was especially hard on those who have friends in other villages whose Bubbles were the entire village.

Suggestions to Management or General Comment

We could have been given a bit more credit for obeying the rules ourselves without the areas being taped off creating a bad atmosphere. A bit more credit , understanding and compassion would have gone a long way to helping single residents get through a very hard time. We are not a resthome but a residential village

Once again the Government increases our Pension and Bupa takes it. Everything has gone up in price, particularly since lockdown. No consideration about this at all. Not good enough.
